Tony Chapron (international referee of Ligue 1), Johann Perruaux (assistant referee of the federation) and Frank Schneider (federal referee and member of Alsace League of Football) met in Porto-Novo from the 21st to the 28th of January in order to administer courses for referees of the local league.

They were constantly in contact with the Arbitration Commission of the Regional League, chaired by Abdou Fatai Abderoudjou (international referee who officiated on behalf of Benin during the World Cup in Germany in 2006) and who organised training classes with the assistance of a local collaborator from the association, Pierre Coffi Tonon.

More than 50 local referees benefited from the advice given by the three volunteering members of the association who led several theoretical courses and thoroughly explained the ways of applying theories learnt to practical situations.

A huge thank you to our three referees for the quality of their courses and their professionalism, the French Football Federation and the National Direction of Arbitration for the educational books and t-shirts offered, the local CRA for the organization, Raimi Aliou for always obtaining solutions and to our dear Pierre, without who none of the projects in Benin could have possible.

This project was supported by the French federation of Football and the Alsace League of Football
