Emma, appointed by UVS International in order to follow the UVS school project process in Mali, gives us her testimony.

This project had been a human adventure that changed lives of 30 teenagers and their families but also a village, UVS International and a field offered by Cédric Kanté, a skilled and big-hearted football player.

And me in all of this? When I think about it, I was nothing but a kamikaze obeying her father (Mali vs Kabylie? Go to Mali, please!), firstly boosted by my anger as a neophyte and profane student and at the same time I had this sense of responsibility and this “nif” (kind of deep pride, in kabyle) that came back in order to complete the project for the teenagers. I had serious, ambitious, human, intellectual and sporting objectives and a bold curiosity and I was single-minded in finishing everything before going back home.

From Paris to Strasbourg and then from Ouolofobugu-Bolibana to N'Gabakoro droit-Sala, through Kalaban-Coura... and Koulouba ! The administrative fate of a Malian man, expelled after 18 years in Paris, put me in front of the chief of Sala (then, I used “Kabyle Tajmaat” in his ancestral magnificence). All of this, while making a research in political sciences in the expelled Malian people Charity (AME) and everything that goes with.

And I moved, walked, drove, dived into this world that books don’t tell, don’t teach, completely unrecognized; I found incredible allies and I gained their respect and friendship and they listened to me, they hosted me in their homes and gave me their advices, their trust and finally adopted me, and gave me an incredible opportunity. It was a common destiny because in the end, good people, such as n'FA Abdoulaye Deyoko, Emmanuel Antz (Ndlr : UVS International director), always meet.

In memory of the inauguration of UVS school, in Sala, on June 2nd 2008. With the pupils, Adama (he was the oldest in the group and the most quiet, I’m happy to hear him talk and especially, to learn that he’s a mechanic now. He’s a Diarra so it’s possible that he’s the chief of the village in Sala), I recognized Fanta’s younger sister… There are younger in this class.
